Bad Weather, Really Good Time!!!!

Although the weather outside was frightful (temps in the 50s and drizzling rain), the FEA/REF picnic was delightful, and we had a tremendous showing of staff and retirees on October 3,2019 at the Jackie Durrell Pavilion. Our faithful grill chefs, Dave Abraham (who has now joined the ranks of the retirees) and brother, Mike, faithfully manned the grill in much less than optimum conditions, and we still enjoyed those fabulous hot dogs, hamburgers, steak and kielbasa as well as many other good things to eat. Many thanks to Lauren Mason, FEA Activities chairwomen and to the FEA for hosting this event which brings together staff and retirees every year.

REF Picnic co-chairs, Fran Wilder and Paula Sweeley, want to extend our sincere thanks to the MANY volunteer retirees who helped to set up, cook, keep the buffet stocked, contribute yummy desserts, and clean up at the end:

David Abraham, Tony Andrade, Martha     Becker, Linda Chandler, Donna Coble, Bill Degan, Joyce Flynn, Marilynn Jamgochian, Adele Josovitz, Nora Kurimai, Roger Lasky, Karin Layton, Lynne Levesque, Betty Mulholland, Sandy Naughton, Jo-Ann Olsen,Ted   Ostrowski, Elizabeth Power, Deirdra Preis, Mark Rudolph, Larry Shire, Peter Trupp, Nancy Trupp and Lois Wallman

Special thanks to:

Peter Trupp , who is a picnic enthusiast and does absolutely everything from noon until closing.

Chefs Dave and Mike , who hauled in the grill and canopy and stuck it out in the rain and the cold.

Ted Ostrowski , who lent his garage for storage and his back for trucking supplies to the pavilion.

Roger Lasky , super shopper, who manages to always find bargain prices for his purchases.

AGAIN, THANKS TO ALL OF YOU VOLUNTEERS. WITHOUT YOU THIS PICNIC COULD NEVER HAPPEN!!!
